Matt Lauer fired
An explosive expose about Matt Lauer's alleged sexual harassment of female employees at NBC reveals that the anchor allegedly flashed his penis at one woman and bought another a sex toy. Variety spoke with 10 past and present workers at the company who accused Lauer of a vast array of sexual misconduct, including the woman who claims that she was sexually assaulted by the show's long-time anchor beginning in 2014 at the Sochi Olympics. That woman also shared her account with the human resources and legal departments of NBC News on Monday, which led to Lauer's firing on Tuesday evening. The New York Times reported shortly after the expose dropped that two new complaints had been filed against Lauer by NBC employees, including one woman who said that in 2001 she was summoned by Lauer to his office to have sex. The unnamed woman, who was married at the time, said that given Lauer's position she did not believe that she had a choice at the time.Former co-host of the 'Today Show' Ann Curry is speaking out after allegations of sexual misconduct surfaced against her former on-air colleague Matt Lauer on Tuesday. 'The women's movement got us into the workplace, but it didn't make us safe once we got there,' Curry told PEOPLE Magazine during an interview to promote her return back to television. 'And the battle lines are now clear. We need to move this revolution forward and make our workplaces safe. Corporate America is quite clearly failing to do so, and unless it does something to change that, we need to keep doing more ourselves,' she added. Curry declined to comment directly on the allegations aimed at Lauer, who was fired from NBC on Tuesday when nearly a dozen people accused the long-time anchor of a vast array of sexual misconduct.
