Sushmita Sen (born 19 November 1975) is an Indian film actress and model who was crowned Femina Miss India in 1994 and she later won the Miss Universe 1994 contest at the age of 18. Sen is the first Indian woman to win the competition.Primarily known for her work in Hindi films, she has also appeared in Tamil and Bengali films and has won a Filmfare Award.
She made her acting debut with the Hindi film Dastak in 1996. The Tamil musical Ratchagan (1997) was her first commercial success. She featured in supporting roles in several box-office hits, including Sirf Tum (1999), Biwi No.1 (1999), Main Hoon Na (2004) and Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya? (2005).

After her reign as Miss Universe, Sushmita became an actress.
